Please stay on the marked trails and off the plowed town roads except for crossing and accessing the trails. Fines for riding on roads and for non-registered/non-insured sleds can be VERY expensive. Costs can be up to $300 or more. The Club has worked hard with the local constables regarding trail access requirements. Please help enforce the laws by telling others. Business Meeting March 20, 2004 Called to order 7:31pm Secretary's report: Accepted as printed. Treasurer's report: Accepted as read. Groomer donations--Thanks to everyone who donated money towards our new groomer for the club. The new total of monies collected to date is $2,425.00. Rescue Ride-In--The rescue ride-in this year brought in $1,240.00. Thanks to everyone that collected prizes for this and most of all thanks to everyone that contributed. Grooming machine--Thanks again to Monti and Norman for keeping the trails groomed up so nicely this year. If we end up with all the money we have coming to us from VAST for grooming we will have approx. $1,800.00 which is great for such a short season this year. Trails--We all know we need to do some more trail work next year to help our trail system get better and the two biggest projects will probably be the dump bridge and Fischerís hill to try and straighten that section for our groomer. Election of officers--Next month will be our annual election of officers. Please get all speeches prepared ahead of time!!! Meeting--The Windham County meeting will be coming up on March 31st at 6:00pm at the Dover town hall. Overnight ride--Next year the club wants to plan another trip for northern Vermont and there was talk of even doing possibly two trips up north. Web site--Everyone really liked having our new web site this season and all the members want to thank Melanie Tregoning for helping the club get this started and keeping it up to date. Meeting adjourned 8:25pm. Respectfully submitted, February 22, 2004 Annual Wardsboro Rescue Snowmobile Ride-in Great weather made for a great turnout. Many sleds were parked at the firehouse. Even the Brattleboro Reformer sent someone down to take photos of the event! Grace Cottage EMT service also came by and reviewed the emergency equipment with the Wardsboro Rescue Unit. Wardsboro Rescue responded to many snowmobile and snow trail-related calls this year. Many thanks to everyone who collected and donated funds and raffle prizes. So far, $1,161 has been collected for the fund-raiser. Business Meeting January 17, 2004 Called to order 8:12pm. Secretary's report: Accepted as written. Groomer donations- As of this last meeting the club has received $1950.00 towards our new grooming machine. Thanks again to all of our members that have contributed. Grant application- After purchasing our new drag we will need to submit the price and some pictures of the new drag to Vast to receive 50% of the cost of the drag. Also we should receive 25% of the cost towards our new grooming machine this year too. Overnight ride- This ride will be on February 7th and 8th leaving at 7:00am from Michael Koolis's house in Stratton and riding to White River Jct. approximately 130 miles one way. Anyone wanting to ride on this should contact Dick Cammarano. Meeting- The club's next business meeting will be on February 22nd at the Wardsboro Firehouse at 12:00pm. This will also be our annual Rescue ride-in to benefit the Wardsboro Rescue Dept. and also the Grace Cottage Ambulance service. We are hoping to get more riders to join in this year and try to raise more money this year. Progressive dinner- Many thanks to Dick and Carol Cammarano and Alan and Janet Bills for making the progressive dinner a great time and thanks to all who showed up and brought all the great food!! Grooming machine- New studs have been put on the machine and the groomer is ready to go with some more snow so we can start grooming our trail. Website- Keep watch of the clubs new website thanks to Melanie Tregoning for any new things that come up and also to find out how the trail conditions are. The website is www.mtcd.com/pathfinders. Groomer donations- Many thanks to all that have contributed towards the clubs new purchase of a grooming machine. So far we have received $1655.00. Grooming sled and drag- The grooming machine is all set up for the new groomer and the new groomer is expected to be picked up in a week or so. Thanks to Monti and Norm for getting this all to come together and for running back and forth to New Hampshire to get the clubs new drag. Volunteer TMAs- The club has received 10 TMA's to be distributed out to the people this year that volunteered their time with the trail work and the new bridge construction also. Many thanks to everyone that has helped the club in anyway this year to make things come together. Lets hope for a another good year of riding again. Vast maps- We have received the new VAST maps this year. If anyone needs one please contact Norm, our treasurer. Overnight ride- Dick Cammarano is again this year planning a trip for our club that hopefully this year we will be able to ride right from Stratton and go into the middle of the state and stay over and then come back the following day. This will possibly be the end of January or the first of February. Please let him know if anyone else would like to go so he can reserve the right amount of rooms. Rides- The club will do another progressive dinner this year on January 17th. We will keep everyone posted about the time and where it will happen coming up. The Rescue Ride-In this year will be on February 22nd at the Wardsboro Firehouse. We are hoping for bigger numbers of riders this year to benefit our local rescue dept. and the volunteer time they put in all year long as well as Grace Cottage Hospital also. Website- Thanks to Melanie Tregoning our club is going to have a website for anyone to access to get the newsletter or any current things going on with the club. This will be www.mtcd.com/pathfinders. Thanks Melanie for all your work on this project. New Bridge- The clubs new bridge has been completed on the National Forests Land and it looks great. Thanks to everyone that helped that day and many thanks to Monti for all the time spent going over the permits and all the phone calls going back and fourth with all the necessary people to get the project started. Treasurer's report: Accepted as printed. Trail Work- Some of the trail work has been done but still more is needed to get done before the snow comes. We also need to get up all our new signs to mark our trails better and the bridge on the National Forest needs to be built once we get the final ok from them. Keep track of everybody's time and where you worked and let Jesse know. Donation letter- Thanks to everyone that helped get this together and sent out. We have already started to receive donations back towards our new grooming machine. Drags- The club is still looking for a drag for our new machine to pull and Norm and Jesse may go to New Hampshire to look at another one. Grooming contract- We have received our grooming contract through VAST and will get paid 6.60/mile for 23 miles of trails we will be grooming. VAST will also provide our liability insurance for our new sled. X-mas meeting- The clubs December 20th meeting will be our annual X-mas party which will be a pot luck dinner and a $6.00 grab bag present. This will be at the same place where we have been holding our meetings on Newell Hill Road at 6:00pm. (See snap shots here!) Minutes- Due to postage costs of mailing our letter out each month please let us know on your TMA form if you would still like to receive the minutes each month or please provide us with your e-mail address to get them that way.
