Please stay on the marked trails and off the plowed town roads except for crossing and accessing the trails. Fines for riding on roads and for non-registered/non-insured sleds can be VERY expensive. Costs can be up to $300 or more. The Club has worked hard with the local constables regarding trail access requirements. Please help enforce the laws by telling others. PLEASE RESPECT OUR ENVIRONMENT--DO NOT LITTER THE TRAILS |

Business Meeting-March 19, 2005 Secretary’s report: Accepted as printed. Business: 2) Hot dog roast - Thanks to Ron Tiejten for having a hot dog roast for our club to be involved with and thanks to mother nature for such a nice day to have a ride. 3) Shirts and hats - John Bilda showed us some samples we can choose from when we decide to purchase some shirts and hats this fall. We decided we would show everybody what there is to choose from and get everyone’s sizes and orders rather than buying a lot and not selling them. 4) Trail work - We decided that we should concentrate on the area near Peter Fischer’s land this fall to straighten the trail some and possibly move some of the rocks in the trail. We will need to get permission from the landowners in this area to make sure first that the landowners feel comfortable with any work we want to do. 5) Grooming machine - After speaking with VAST, it didn’t sound like we would be eligible to get another grooming machine until our three years are up owning this first one. Alexis Norwalk said we could again apply probably but we wouldn’t be high on the priority list with the amount of miles we have to groom. 6) Election of officers - We voted to keep the same officers this year except the vice president’s job which Ron wanted to step down after his years of service. We voted in Melanie Tregoning in as the new vice president if she is still willing to do the job. Meeting adjourned 8:16pm Respectfully submitted, Business Meeting-February 19, 2005 Secretary’s report: Read and accepted. New Business: Next Meeting-The next club meeting will be on March 19th at 7:00pm at our usual location(Joyce Allen's). This will also be the election of officers meeting so anyone willing to become more involved with the club is welcome to think about an officer’s position. Hot Dog Roast-On March 5th at 1:00pm there will be a hot dog roast at Ron Tiejten's land. All in our club are welcomed and urged to come and enjoy the day riding and visiting with our club members. Bring snacks or a dessert item or beverages of your preference if you would like. (Take the 710 trail and follow "Mellow Yellow" signs.) Trail Work-Start thinking about next year's projects for the summer and fall. We want to try to prioritize some problem spots. We would like to work on Fischer’s hill area and try to open it up some through the small spruces on top of the hill. This will make it easier to groom through that area and try to get some of the stones out of that area also. Stickers, shirts and hats-Melanie is going to try to get some new stickers for the club to use on our machines and John Bilda is going to get us some samples or costs on getting new hats for the club and also mock turtle necks. Thanks to you both for your help with this. New grooming machine-Club members and officers decided to look into the possibility of purchasing another grooming machine with the stipulation that VAST will again give us 50% of the funding again this time. Meeting adjourned at 8:08pm. Respectfully submitted, Business Meeting-January 15, 2005 Secretary’s report: Accepted as printed. Grooming donations- Thanks to all the members that have contributed to the grooming fund. Hopefully soon we will be able to be out on our trail. Members- So far the club has 112 members for this year. Thanks to Norm, Monti and Ron for doing all these TMAs for our club. Donation- Our club decided to give a donation of $50.00 dollars to the Central VT Snowmobilers up north which consisted of three clubs that will have a ride-in on Feb. 5 to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation. Last year they were able to raise approx. $30,000 dollars. Events- Visit the Club Events page for changes to the schedule of events. Next Meeting- The next club meeting will be on February 19 at 7:00pm where we have been meeting at Newell Hill Road. Trail conditions- Each Thursday or Friday Melanie will try to have our trail conditions posted on our website. Anyone that doesn’t have this it is: www.mtcd.com/pathfinders. Thanks Melanie for your continued help. Meeting adjourned at 7:58pm. Respectfully submitted, Business Meeting Secretary's Report: Accepted as printed. Grooming Donations--Thanks to all the members so far that have again contributed to the clubs grooming fund this year. Hopefully with some more snow we can get out to use the grooming machine. Trail Work--We are pretty much done with trail work for this year but anyone that is the first to be out on our trails may find some blow downs after all the wind we have had. Thanks to all though this year that volunteered to do our trail work. Rescue Ride--This will be on February 20th at 12:00pm at the Wardsboro Firehouse. Anyone that can help Ron Wencil get prizes for the riders that day would be appreciated. Other Rides--The club will go up to Barre again this year on January 21, 22 and 23rd for a club ride (see date change on Club Events page). Dick has 10 rooms reserved and cost approx. $55.00 per night. E-mail Dick at ccammarano@earthlink.net if you are interested in going. The women in the club have planned a day of riding for them which will be on February 5th (see date change on Club Events page) leaving from the Wardsboro area. If you're interested please contact Michelle Perkins. The hot dog roast & ride at Ron Tietjen's has been postponed. (See date change on Club Events page) Alternate Routes--The club has had to make some minor changes to our trail due to wet areas. We will sign these new areas so just follow the signs through the new spots. Next Meeting--The next club meeting will be at our usual spot on Newell Hill road on January 15th at 7:00pm. Respectfully submitted, Projects/Trail Work Meeting Treasurer's Report: Signing Money--We received back from VAST $397 towards the money we spent last year for all the new signs we put up. So, really, the new signs cost us hardly anything at all. Thanks Norm for taking care of sending the info up to Alexis. Sled and Groomer Money--After October 30, the Club will receive $975 from VAST which is half of the cost of the groomer as well as $3,396.50 which is half of the sleds cost. We will then be able to pay off our new sled, which is great, after only one year. Dues--We decided to keep the dues the same as last year, which is $15. VAST will also be the same as last year, which is $65. Lift--Norm picked up the new lift for our groomer which broke last year. This was under warranty. Grooming Money--We received $2,029 for grooming last season and we did get paid for the miles we groomed. Work Projects--Here are some of the areas we should look at this fall for our 710 trail: 1) straighten the corner near our new bridge built last season in West Wardsboro; 2) fix and do some brush work on Fischer's Hill area; 3)Look at Dump bridge and see if we can get by another year or if it needs to be replaced; 4) do some brush work from Milbauer's house to the Stocker Farm Road--just trim it back better; 5) Need some culvert work up near the beaver pond by Mike Koolis' place; 6) After we see what the Rec area looks like, we may need to do some brush work through there. If anyone has any ideas, let our officers know. Work Dates--Were October 16, 24 and 31. Next Meeting--Will be held on Saturday, November 20, 7:00 p.m. at Tim & Valerie's place: 110 Bills Road; the first house on your right off from Bills Road. |
