Please stay on the marked trails and off the plowed town roads except for crossing and accessing the trails. Fines for riding on roads and for non-registered/non-insured sleds can be VERY expensive. Costs can be up to $300 or more.

The Club has worked hard with the local constables regarding trail access requirements. Please help enforce the laws by telling others.

PLEASE RESPECT OUR ENVIRONMENT--DO NOT LITTER THE TRAILS

Grooming donations Thanks to all the members that have contributed to the grooming donation. This certainly helps towards the cost of our second snowmobile and also towards our new drag we had made this year for the new groomer.

Womens' ride The women unfortunately had to cancel the first date of their ride but they have rescheduled for Saturday, March 4th. We thought it would be nice to include anyone men or women in this ride and we would leave Mike Koolis’s house around 10:00 am to possibly head towards the Skyline restaurant. See the events page for details.

Maps The new maps are in and cost $5.00 if anyone would like one.

See the events page for details.

Safety course Thanks to all that made the safety course a success. We had 17 kids go through the class. Thanks so much to Kevin Robinson the instructor for teaching the class. The materials from the state are free and Kevin gives his time to do the class. Thanks again everyone.

Business
1) Grooming Donations - Many thanks to all the members that have contributed to the grooming fund again this year. The donations make a big difference since now our club owns two grooming machines.
2) Grooming Sled - Our new groomer is back and the new hitch has been put on. The machine is all set to go now.
3) New maps - The new maps haven't arrived to the club yet but they are due in soon. Let one of us know if you want a new one. (
UPDATE: New maps are in as of December 20, 2005.)
4) Rescue Ride-in - The ride-in will be on February 18th at 1:00 p.m. at the Stratton Recreational Park. Anyone that can help us get any type of raffle prizes would be appreciated. This benefits our local Rescue and our ambulance service out of Grace Cottage Hospital. We could also use some help cooking burgers and hot dogs etc and if you can make a dish to bring that would be great also. Contact Melanie or Bette if you can help in anyway.
5) Ladies Ride - The ladies will have their own ride-in somewhere on January 28th with an alternate date of February 25th if the 28th doesn't work. (
UPDATE: we're planning on a luncheon ride to Gringo's.)
6) Safety Course - The club will be holding a safety course on January 7th at 8:30 a.m. at the Wardsboro town hall. Unfortunately the class is filled with 25 kids attending. Thanks to Kevin Robinson for doing this class for the club. This class is free to the kids and remember lunch will be provided.
7) Next Meeting - The club's next meeting will be on January 28th at 7:00 p.m. at our usual location on Newell Hill road.
8) Trails- Remember the Vast trail system opens December 19th. In some spots along our trail we have changed the trail to make certain spots better so just be sure to follow the green arrows along our trail system and as always be sure to respect other riders and especially the land owners. Without them our trail system would be nothing. Also throughout the winter you may come across logging operations on our trail. Proceed with caution through these spots and be aware of the machinery they are using.
9) Thanks - Thanks to all the volunteers that have helped get our trail system ready for this coming year. Also thanks to all our officers that volunteer their time to make the club work year after year. We have a great bunch of members and we look forward to seeing you all on our trail this year. THINK SNOW!!!
10) Website - Remember that the clubs website is http://www.mtcd.com/pathfinders Be sure to keep watch of this to be keep up to date on everything that is going on with the club. This is also where you can download the TMA forms to register.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
